Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche

Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche was born in 1950 in Nepal. He is a fully qualified lama of the Kagyu Lineage.  He received the title of “Maniwa” from the 16th Karmapa Rangjung Rigpe Dorge, which means that he repeated the mantra Om Mani Peme Hung, which is an expression of enlightened compassion of our Buddha nature, more than one billion times.

Sherab Gyaltsen Rinpoche is very active both in Asia as well as in Europe.

In Asia he completed various projects, including the restoration of the ancient Manang monastery, Karma Drubju Chieling in Pokhara, taking over responsibility for the Manang monastery at the Swayambhu Stupa in Kathmandu, and supervision over the publication of basic meditation texts. Since 2008, at the invitation of Lama Ole Nydahl, he has been travelling around Europe giving teachings, coordinating the construction of stupas and holding ceremonies to initiate them. So far two Enlightenment Stupas have been completed under his guidance, in Hungary and in Austria. In 2011 the Rinpoche led three day long initiations for over 4.5 thousand people in the Diamond Way Europe Center
